So My computer blew up last night...

Woke up with my computer dead this morning, NOT COOL.

I do abuse it, as it's on 24/7 for the last 2 years pretty much, and it has taken care of me well.

Old Computer (Custom Build)

2 AMD 64 Dual Core Processor

4 Gig's DDR2 RAM

320GIG HD

1GIG Video Card

New Computer

Quad Core AMD @ 2.8

8 GIG RAM DDR2

1TB HD

1 GIG VIdeo Card

Spent most of the day dealing with data transfer, and building the new one up, but I am glad I was forced, this one is a beauty! It will allow me to process orders that much faster //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

virtually identical to my custom comp, but i only have 512mb graphics.

been running 24/7 for going on 4 years now, i wonder how much it has left in it.

new computer sounds SICK though

Thanks man, it runs great. Until I can get all the business stuff off this Hard Drive I am booting on the old one, but it is still wicked fast, I can't imagine the new one.

Render some HD video with effects and then try again.
Also, I hate to say it but based on the way you posted your specs I will assume your computer benchmarks like shit.
My Core 2 Quad is faster I am sure and it runs at a 400MHz disadvantage, AMD was kicking Intel's *** from about 1999 to 2007 but since then its been all Intel again.

I never posted specs to anything. Ive been doing auto cad since 2002 on machines built specifically for 3d rendering and Ive never touched more than 4Gbs.

Doubt that, I got 8GB of DDR2 for $60, and its high end RAM too.
When? In the 1900's? The cheapest 8Gb RAM kit is $250. $600-$250 = $350. Thats almost half of the entire computer build which I said. Your statement proves nothing other than the fact that you have no idea what your talking about. Even if you bought 2x4Gb kits thats still $160 plus a performance hit over a full 8Gb kit since its no longer ECC or dual channel capable which would be very important while rendering 3d video if that is the case.
