More than likely it's gonna be 2 18's in my ranger. So...If I'm gonna wall this thing should I leave all the plastics out? Or put them all back in? I've got it gutted right now, and i've never done a wall, so I'm not really sure what to do.

For now though, I will be building a false floor to put the batteries underneath the box / wall. Hope I've got enough room //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Personally, I would only remove the plastic pieces if they were going to be in the way of construction. You may want to remove them if you plan on dynamatting at all.

Since you already have it gutted right now, I would not put them back in especially if you are going to create custom beauty panels anyway.

at first i left the plastics in......got louder when i pulled em out and screwed wood to the metal to seal it off

iirc the rangers have panels that go from A pillar to B pillar that is actually part of the B pillar. if you leave that out, it would look pretty bare like your saying...

as long as you can get a good seal around the wall to the roof and sides you'll be ok. use wood like pimp is saying ^^^^

I'm scared of crazy rattle w/ wood on steel. And yes you are correct, that why I think I'll have to put it all back in.

btw i used that 3/8 inch HDF, it bends nicely without kerfing to fit wierd contours, and i used liq nails, and these amazing self tappers, that went through as many as 3 sheets of sheet metal at once, without problems

it hasnt come apart yet, so im pretty confident that if you let the liquid nails cure, you wont have an issue either
