me and my freind are driving around and find this place where the local kids that have "cool" cars meet up. so i drive up bumping and they immediatly tell me to come over. so i go, and show a few people what i have and they are all like **** man that slams. well then one of the kids takes me over to his explorer.......

he has 8 or ten 10's in it, Jbl's off of a JBL amp in a clamshell. so he cranks it up and for a couple seconds im like ****....it was definately a little louder than mine, but not by much, it was moving a good amount of air to, but you couldnt feel the bass at all like you can in my truck. it was wierd...

well i sit there for a minute or two, and i realize there is this weird sound coming from the subs....he was bottoming them out hardcore....

then the kid is like you need to grow some balls and get this shit, i just laughed and walked away. turns out everyone of the cars there was running some combination of jbl/mtx.

I've come to conclusion that every "club" like that is...completely retarded.

There's one around here, too. They call themselves the "Midnight Crew".

They basically sit outside of some crap audio shop that can't do installs right to save their lives (didn't secure down my buddies box. Ended up sliding around, and he didn't even notice intil the speaker wire snapped out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif ), drool over eachother's lowest-end JL's that are seeing maybe 400w, and then drive around the town all blairing their systems.

Kinda gehy if you ask me.

Had a similar experience a few weeks ago at a local audio shop when I stopped in to get some 4g wire. Some kid was hanging out and started asking me about my set up. I gave him the usual "some flea market stuff" response, but he didn't let up and wanted to see/hear it. I gave him a quick demo, was running a single HD315 at the time.

Then he wanted to show his off: 4 JL 12's, 2 JL amps, 9 cube ported box all in a Durango. It was louder and moved a lot of air, but just didn't get deep or have any impact compared to my single 15. Told me mommy & daddy paid $4400 for it all. They could have done a LOT better for their $$$....

was playin ball at my old h.s. and some kids were showin off their new systems (one kid had 4 kicker comp 12's off a "kicker 800 watt" in a probox, he wasn't mouthin or anything but it was funny when he heard my 1 pioneer that was way louder than his 4 subs, lol.
