so i'm taking a leap towards a better future....

The TV, yes, but I personally think it's stupid to go without the internet if you can easily afford it. If you're distracted by a forum, that isn't grounds to remove the internet. That's like closing down a grocery store because you can't help but buy a burger everytime you go in there.

i didnt read all the posts, but to the OP:

i HAVE to use the internet for a lot of my college work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

unless you plan on strictly using school computers or something

yes i understand that

personally though for writing papers or doing school-related finances, school grades, contacting professors, and even online homework, i rely a lot on internet at my apartment.

i mean, giving that stuff up i guess would reap its benefits, especially TV (i rarely watch TV, mainly for playoff sports). However, i think it would be better to have su ch things for when you need them and just teach yourself to be responsible.

more power to ya tho, good luck with that

I commend you on all that you will try and do. I wish I could do the same, which I could stop using the internet, but I have to have my TV. I mean I have so much money involved in HT and what not and would kill me to just have it sit there and not use it, lol!

Wish you the best. Nothing wrong with it at all...........just know I couldn't do it.

i think keep both tv and internet and having the willpower not to overuse them and to use them properly would be better for your future than just living without

anyone can live without something, but having the willpower to control something and use it in moderation to enhance your life is a more valuable tool...alcohol comes to mind;)

TV for me is not that big a deal until it's football season. Then the TV is HUGE...LOL!

The net is how I do email, read news, participate on forums, buy stuff, research things, watch markets and sometimes even find something funny!

Music...now that is something I'm almost always listening to. Whether it's the radio, my playlists, a CD, net radio, at home or in the car, music is what I'd miss the most of all on an everyday basis.

The concept I follow is quality time. Anyone can veg out for hours in front of the **** tube but to have something worthwhile to watch makes the TV a valuable asset. The net can let one explore quite a few possibilities but if one is aimless, one might as well be drunk off their butt in a public library for all the good that will do when there is so much there.

Baby, bathwater. Use the tech to help you instead of being consumed by it is my point of view.

Rick
