First I had one of those sledgehammer things, before I knew that the box mattered... that was for the rl-p. Wasn't too bad actually, got pretty loud just not really LOWWWW. It still hit low notes, just not the low low ones some people are obsessed with, and the higher notes were a lot louder. Then I had a custom box, 2 cubes at 30 hz, which the RL-P went into. That thing was loud AND beasted the shit out of the lows. In certain songs, I dont remember which, the bass would get so low that I could barely hear it, but I could see everything in my car flexing, my windshield and dash the most. Then I bought an old Mag V1 and put it in the same box. All I can say is that I was extremely impressed. It sounded a little better, it hit a little lower, it was just insane. Both subs were off a PG xenon x600.1, probably only around 600 watts cuz the gain wasnt TOO high, plus my HU is 2v PO Honestly I liked both subs a whole lot. The only thing I would change about my old systems was the box. 30 hz just is too low a tuning for rock music, with 1 12 off around 600 watts. Maybe with an 18" BTL off 3k watts, tuning at 28-30 might be pretty good for rock, but mine just wasnt enough. In the future, if I had another single 12" setup with lowish power, I would probably tune in the 34-37 range, if not higher. Now, for rap and techno, it was perfect. I actually still have the old box, if ur interested. There are pics of it in my gallery, and the build thread is on these forums somewhere.
