im 99.999% sure its the speaker but i think it might be a weak tinsel connection to the voice coil... heres what happened
got the speaker like a day ago (peerless sls 6.5) only bought one cause i wasnt sure what they were gonna be liek.. loved it it for the price, so i ordered another one... whcih is on its way
so i tested it out for awhile when i first got it and it seemed fine more or less, i thought when i first heard it there was maybe some little mechanical noise but wasnt bad so i figured it was just the speaker... anyway today i was just loosing up the suspension running some test tones and i was being rather gentle, same as i was the day before when i first got it, but this time i noticed a weird clicking/popping sound thats happes randomly.. it plays fine.. then it would click for awhile.. then play fine.. it sounds kinda like a loose terminal connection.. so i checked the wires, tried two different amps, and tried the same connection/tones on speakers i know handle less power.. and they didnt have any problems whats so ever. so it has to be the speaker imo... coil doesnt rub and it reads fine on dmm.. so the only thing i can think of is as i mentioned, a bad tinsel connection somewhere along the voice coil.. it seems fine at the terminal and i can see alot of the voice coil itself and its in perfect shape.. there also seems to be some dust under the suspesion, i guess from sitting in the warehouse. but i cant see if theres any around the voice coil, but if that was it, i figured the problem would of happened since i had it.. /shrug.. im not happy
(and i see you got the 10's of the same speaker)
