It's the type of shit I figured out for myself. Before entering a fraternity.
We put ourselves through enough on our own, we cover our own bases, respecting the house, but also having a good time.

What you're describing isn't a frat... it's a circle jerk.

It's whatever. They don't check ID's. Not trying to look cool by being in a bar.. It's not that uncommon, as long as you have connections and hookups.
Just an interesting fact. I had my first irish car bomb, which was tasty as hell. Most of the time I just drink beer/mixed drinks, i.e., rum/coke, vodka/koolaid, jungle juice, etc.

My roommate had to put up with people a year or two younger than him when he joined. He went inactive at the beginning of this semester. No way in hell I'd let anyone boss me around and force me to be DD when I didn't volunteer.

Like I said, it's called standards. We don't want diseases, fuck that shit.

It's more that we live by a different policy than other fraternities. And we're not the only one, just the major ones don't. We only have 45 people in my house. We're a moderately well known one, but not one of the major players on campus. Most of the major ones typically have harsher standards.

Our DD policy? Everyone is assigned a friday and a saturday, and we divvy it up. We can trade if we'd like, and organize how we want, but every pledge serves two nights of DD, and every active serves one. It's a pretty reasonable thing, we only have to take two nights, mostly of our choice, out of the semester to be a DD. We don't have hazing, and we have harsh academic policies.

Fraternities have a bad rep, but it's the minority that give it to us. It's like cops. A few of them are dicks, and they're all assumed to be.
