So just today I was blasting the XXX for about 10 min or so, I and I noticed the infamous "VC smell."
I was playing a song that was probably in the 45-50 hz range (my box is tuned to 32 hz) and once I smelled it I turned down the volume.
The amp is an IA 20.1, set the gain on the DMM at 42.42 volts (1800 watts) and the SSF is some where between 35-50 hz. Sub is 04 XXX 12".
This is the only time I have noticed it and was wondering if it might just be glue burning off since it's a fresh recone. The sub is not blown and it only happend for a few seconds before I turned it down.
Just checking to see if anyone might have a clue.
One more question before starting a new thread. Has anyone else noticed that in the heat, your subs don't hit as hard? I noticed this today as well, and was wondering if excessive heat in the trunk could cause even great impedance rise?
There, no more for now.
