Our dog took a hit last night from the local musk patrol...egads does that shit stink.

It takes forever for the smell to go away. Our dog got sprayed last summer. We live next to a huge park, so there are all sorts of critters around our house. After a couple months, you couldn't smell the dog, so it seemed like she was ok to pet. But if you pet her, your hands would smell like skunk. It took a good 2 months or so for that to go away.

You're gonna be smelling it for quite a while. That smell lingers on EVERYTHING.

I've had a similar experience a couple years ago. I was over at a friend's house and the dog came barreling through the door, did a quick lap around the living room and started to head towards the kitchen. It took all of about 2 seconds of that dog being inside to clear the entire house out instantaneously. No one could get to the door quick enough, couple people jumped over the couch to get to the door hahaha. I don't think I've smelt anything more rancid in my life.

He got it in the face and it was pretty light, thank gawd...we were able to confine most of the smell to the mudroom and we hustled him out of the house very quickly as you could smell it the instant he came in through the doggie door.
