My first set-up was a sealed 12" woofer running 500rms, and it sounded really nice but wasn't loud enough. I dropped the same subwoofer in a ported box, and it's louder(still not enough) but the bass has a tendency to slide frequency in dubstep and the ported box changes volume randomly as the frequency approaches the tuning. I use that right now. I like the predictability and flat frequency response of sealed but I need more power- hence the massive subwoofer in a sealed box. I also want to keep trunk space clear.</p></blockquote><p></p>
