I've been thinking that I would only need a single 10 inch sub (Alpine type s?) to replace my old bazooka 10. I want punchy tight bass and listen to Rock mainly. I happened into a pawn shop today and they let me throw in a pair of xtant 10" subs in a sealed box into my trunk and try it out. I tried it first with just one 10 hooked up. Not bad. But when I hooked up both 10's it was SOOOO much better. I was impressed and I know that these werent great subs. So my question is: if I want that punchy bass where you feel the thump do I need to go with a pair of 10's or will the right single 10 do it for me? I'm currently running a profile msx 600 mono amp (300w @ 4 ohms, 410w @ 2 ohm). Will my amp run a pair of Alpine type S?
