I siliconed the inside of my box to make sure it was air tight.

Well guess what the silicone did not stick very well to the mdf. If u rub you finger accross it will peel right off.

I used door and window silicone.

So I said F$CK and took my time and peeled all the silicone off and sanded it smooth.

It looks like the silicone did not dry on the underside. it left the wood damp looking when it came off.

What went wrong?

I don't remember the exact type of caulk (not at home), but it's the same for filling walls or nail holes.

for silicone i've used ...forgot the brand, but it has XST on it. silicone III i believe. It worked pretty well. I just hate it because it's too **** sticky and messes up my clothes and is a biatch to clean off my hands.

No i let the glue dry for 24 hours before i applied the silicone.

I think it was just a bad tube. i just put some on a junk pieace of mdf and i will see if it sticks to that or not.

The stuff I got was black also dont know if that makes a difference. It is silicone II

That is what i used. GE window and door silicone II but it was black.

I put some on a scrap pieace of mdf about 5 hours ago so in the morning i will see if it will come right off.

Also got some other stuff from a buddy put that on the mdf also.
