SI Mag vs. Eclipse

What would I get better results out of, 1 12" SI Mag or 2 Eclipse 12" SW9122? SPL and SQ wise...let me hear some input. BTW they will be running off a single JL 1000/1.

2 12s would be louder.

The eclipse has the larger motor and more thermal power handling with more turns in the coil and the edge in excursion with its 10" spiders and 2" surround and custom frame to allow full spider mobility below the suspension. You can get 4"p2p out of the Ti if you wanted. The Mag has the edge in cone area and moving mass with the smaller surround and lighter cone / voice coil assembly. The mag will edge outo the Ti for SQ expect for very deep bass. Both have low inductance and have about the same linear xmax and are designed to be played loud and clean.

One ti against one mag would be even enough, 2 of any would best 1 of the other. It would be silly to assigned a winner to either because they are probably within a dB of each other. If i had to guess which is louder? Probably the Ti. Because of the 8-layer flat wound coil but it could go the other way.

For SPL: Ti by a hair

For SQ: Mag by a hair

Both do both great! and you cant go wrong either way
