Short?

You gotta give some more info - stock speakers/hu? Aftermarket? Are the speakers amped yet or what? Anything in particular it does when it custs out, for instance when you hit a bump, when the music has a loud part, more often when ac is running?

that's a first. my passenger side mid cuts out and crackles all the time after i wash my car. too much water is making it's way into the speaker lol.

lol I know, just first thing that popped into my head but just using it as an example.

i put in a hu but still stock speakers. no amp. i don't notice them cutting OFF when i hit a bump but if they're already off they do tend to come back ON with one. And there's no crackling just complete silence from them. unless i turn the balance all the way to the right and turn the volume all the way up i get a little bit out of it but barely.

it could also mean that the speakers are on there way out when you get your new speakers hook them up see if it does the same thing if it does then its a short
i thought the same thing so i switched the left and right speaker in my dash and it made no difference at all...
