I would think a dis-advantage would be that if one sub went, the port would be come twice as big as it should be (and since that port goes into another box, would also have an effect on volume I'd think)..

Not sure there are any advantages.. you would have to run the subs on the same signal so you didn't have issues in the port with different freqs (or so I would think).. and the design would be a ***** too.. trying to figure out where the port volume was?

If you try it, let us know how it turns out, I'd be curious to see...

i've seen it done before at this store and my friend's 2 JL 12w0's and his port is roughly 2" wide by maybe 12-14" long. i like the design and im currently working out dims for my 12w3v2's, but i was unsure if i just calculate a port for a box that is twice the volume of an individual sub or just combine the measurements for two ports into one port.

but if one subs does go, the driver will perform as if the sub was in a box of twice the volume. and with the same sized port, the tuning frequency will effectively be lowered. however, since the port doesnt change size as the box volume increases, the overall tuning frequency will be back to what it was when both subs were working in the first place. i think...

Hi ive got shared ports in my vibe box-it kicks realy hard realy agresive bass. bpth subs share a comon box-all the air is forced out the centre. Looks smart aswell.

The black rca out is your mono sub output. That is the one you would use for signal to your sub amp.
