On my MTX Thunder 564 I want to set the HPF frequency but it is not marked (bastards), the hpf is 12db stereo also (dunno if that matters or helps). But anyways, I was talking to ologyaudio and he said to take an 80hz test tone (what I want the hpf set to) and play it, then set the amps hpf to 40hz and then turn the frequency up til it is 1/2 to 2/3 the voltage at 40hz. Now, first I just want to check to make sure that is correct, and if it is, how much difference is there between 1/2 and 2/3 (maybe there is a more exact way to do it?). And also, I'm just wondering, what the difference would be between a 6db stereo hpf and a 12db stereo hpf (hu is 6db that is why i'm changing to the amp), would I get overall better sounding music, louder, more midbass, what? May I have to drop the gains a bit?
