SecondSkin Spectrum as underbody-liner w/*PICS*

For awhile now, I've been trying to find a good underbody spray that works well and at the same time lasts. I've used a number of sprays, like 3m, bondo, duplex, (many more) and they were all ineffective. Now I cant stand rust, and I mean anywhere, even if it's not seen so you can imagine how much I hate it when I try to protect something and it doesn't work.

Soo when I was looking through the SSA website and realized that Spectrum is also able to be used as an underbody liner, I whipped out my credit card and got 3 gallons.

now I applied this in two ways, I brushed it on, and then I also used a spray gun. *IF SPRAYING, BUY THE SPRAY GUN THAT'S ON SSA WEBSITE!!* I decided to buy one from harbor freight and it worked, but it was awkward as hell and I couldn't use it in all the places I wanted to.

Just before applying it I brushed all the surfaces off with a wire brush and blew it off with an airhose.

I'm still not finished, and if you see a difference in the color its because some of it was still drying.

I would highly recommend using spectrum, it's very durable (tried to scrape and brush it off with a wire brush and it didn't even scratch it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ). and it also offers sound deadening as well.

I'll post some more pics when I'm done lining the whole underbody.

You couldnt scrape it off? I did my whole van inside with Spectrum and if the corner of a piece of wood hit it, it would come off like rubber. You could grab it and peel it off. Had to touch it up like crazy with black spray paint to make the whole interior of van black again so I could sell it. BTW, here is mine after I just finished. On the big flat surfaces, I just rolled it on with a paint roller. Much easier to get it thick than spraying.

So you tried to cover up the rust?

You didn't prevent it at all you just hid it put a bunch of money over it and have to wait for the rust to fall off to put new Spectrum on.

Just before the salt season too....lol

Peel it off? idk thats a new one on me, I really tried going at it to test its durability, and it was able to leave small surface scratches but never once when through it.
