Since DirecTV P4 card hasn't been hacked yet and Dish network Nagra2 has been hacked. Most guys are using Dish network and the latest thing now is not the cards but "Free to Air" receivers that you upload software to allow you to watch Dishnetwork Channels.
NOT ALL FREE TO AIR RECEIVERS CAN RECEIVE DISH NETWORK AND ALL OF THE RECEIVERS VARY IN QUALITY DO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING.
if you want to be safe buy Pansat or Fortec.. try not to buy chinese clones.
If you really want to play with cards dish network uses "ROM" cards.

This is all my dad will pay for he will not pay monthly for satellite theres a guy in our town that does w/e to the cards/boxes and we just buy them we had dish and switched to direct tv while they are working on the new cards and we should be goin back to dish soon. I know every once in a while say once a year your card or box will get zapped and you will have to buy a new one i think we pay 100 for a box and like 25 for a card. better than a monthly bill

I would really be careful mentioning any of this information in a public forum. Also be careful because there have been some major busts and crackdowns on satellite piracy with directv in the last year. but as said before, it is much more difficult to crack the new p4 cards that directv has out now and there are even fewer of the p3's out. btw, i have total choice premier, nfl sunday ticket and superfan and playboy tv and i pay 15.99/mo but then again, i work for directv and they give it to me for free.
Yup the canadian laws have been changing back and forth its confusing.

Guys selling DirecTV systems are selling SUB systems i believe they get 4 systems from directv then split the 4 systems off for a montly fee less then what directv would charge you.

a friend of mine got busted last year! i think he had to pay a $12k fine if i remember correctly.

Dude, I know 2 people in that have been involved in the satelite card business...
Both of them have been caught and now face huge fines in leu of Jail time(10K plus). Many websites are created by the sat companies in hopes of finding a sucker who wants to purchase the equipment to reprogram the cards. IF and only IF you find one that is "legit" then you have to worry about constant upgrades as the sat companies change the encryption on a regular basis. Not worht the headache at all!
