Safe to test possibly blown sub on amp?

Would it be safe for my amp and subs to test out my 2 12 inch Type R's on my new monoblock 1700 watt amp if one of the subs might be blown?

There is no distinct scratching noise when I press down on the center of the sub.

They are both wired down to 1 ohm

Scratching noises when pushing down does not mean itss blown

And do u have a dmm handy to test the coils I am the sub

I do have a dmm handy, if they are blown I won't get a solid 4 ohm reading I am guessing? I am getting a solid 1 ohm rating from speaker wires.

If your getting a solid reading at the wires then ure fine to play it. Turn it up mayne, ull figure out it there blown real quick

I had an L5 that the coils read fine but every time you put more then 200wrms to it amp went to protect. Shorts in the VC sometimes still read fine
