What would happen if I put my sundown sae 1200 wired to .5 ohms? Not positive but I don't think its .5 ohm stable. Anyone know if it'd blow up or what?
What makes ya say you woukdnt try it? Not doubting you, Jw.I have tried it briefly it worked but I honestly wouldn't do it at all.
Ummmm what? Dude, what are you talking about?Well iconoclaster, youre almost right. And no, the physics Im refering to are the same all over the world. 8 ohms is the ideal load for this amp, and yes, it has one 8 ohm tap, as you say. But, plugging in an 8 ohm ext. cab ALONG WITH the internal speaker will cause the amp to "see" 16 ohms. 2 8 ohm loads wired in parallel = 16 ohms. While I agree that 16 ohms isnt the ideal load, it will work just fine. Ive done it along with many, many others Im sure. And, oh yeah by the way, the DRRI doesnt have a ground lift switch. Thats just on the original era Deluxe Reverbs without the PC board
