IMO the L7, it was designed to be loud

a real comparison would be maybe the SX 15 in which case i think it might be a toss up

I believe that the SE is rated up to around 600watts RMS. I would try the SX or the XXX, both of these would be louder and sound better. I know that the XXX and SX have a lot more X-max for what that is worth.

well. if you want loudness. grab a 15 soloX. that will sound like turds, but it will knock you off your feet.

i would suggest the RE, simply because the sound quality is mUCH much better, but rahter go with (like said) a SX\SXXX\XXX\MT.

if you are looking to win at a comp, go for the L715\15 soloX... you will still most likely win with a pair of XXX 15's with a few kw's of power tho.

so what kinda amp do you have, and what are you doing with the sub? daily driver? competitions? what amp? what box?

these questions will determine what sub is better suited for your project.

To answer your question....if given proper space the L7s will destroy the SE's in SPL. It is true however that without a perfect box, they won't sound nearly as nice.

The solox has won a few SQ comps I believe, maybe im mistaken... I read it on SD awhile ago though

Id go with the L7s, They have the reputation of being Spl'ers. Im not sure of the price difference between the L7 and the SX, or even the SE, L7s can be beaten up and still work, im not sure how a SE will hold up with 1500 watts....

Jelly I love the avatar, dannng. What size boxes does SE's require? I think that should be a large factor in what you should choose your sub on, if you have the room L7s can be made to sound pretty good, while keeping high SPL. I havent heard a SE before, but with the amount of people who love them on all the forums they have to be a great sub. Then again kickers have been around, MANY people have heard them and choose to buy them, where as many people havent heard SE's and just buy them from other peoples opinions on them. I bought my eD 15a awhile ago, just because the hype online, it sounded good, but didnt get loud enough even with 1500 watts, so I was alittle dissapointed. My friends L7 ate it up in SPL, so I bought another. now I win. :boobies:

actually, we don't make the 15 in X series yet...just 18, 10 and 12" versions.
