soundstream " Rub's " are sensitive to vibration i read somewhere , is this true?? i was hoping to mount my rub1600 on the side of my box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The rubicons are sensitive to heavy vibrations. IMO, mounting an amp to a sub box is just asking for trouble in the first place. If you *need* to mount it to the box, make sure the side of the box you are mounting it to is rock solid and put rubber feet on the amp to kill vibrations.

Well i will be running about 1200 watts, and here is my sub design

was hoping to mount to the side facing us in the pic, or on top of the port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ( the wood above it )

ok, while we are talking about it, whats some good THIN velcrow for mounting it in the back

10,000 watts he won't have a problem. Every part of your car will vibrate, not just your box. Any amp that is not made of pudding will be fine as long as it's not flexing and smacking into the amplifier.

You plan on using Velcro to mount ur amp to the box??
nooo velcro for the box to the car haha, ( carpet ) of the car..

i will use some inch long screws and make some 1/4thick washers from some fuel tube and put it inbetween the box and the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I see where you are going with this, but putting the amp down on the floor against the carpet will be a lot more vibration resistant than the box...that isn't to say the floor won't vibrate, but the box is the main source of the vibration, and mounting an amp to it that is secured tightly won't allow for much wiggle room so the amp takes a lot of the vibration to it. Hope that made sense

haha well my box is on the back of a seat that folds up/down soooo.... i can't use L brackets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif wish i could!

also i put my box in the back of my car to see how much it moved and after about 3 days of moving its moved around some, so its a need to be velcro'd ( i was surprised, its heavy )
