RPM just dropped

True but again unless alt is bad or and battery current is totally used up car should not quit. I am guessing little homie dont have any kind of voltage meter ? I am always amazed at all the peeps that have stereos with no voltage meter ? Like having a race motor with no tach ? You have no idea whats going on with it till its to late.
My 2013 Cadillac has a built in volt meter in the dash, is this sufficient and reliable enough to trust dude?

Yes and no yes to keep an eye on car electrical but really need one for your amps too and the positive read coming directly from

amp input so you can see what amps are truly getting voltage wise. I use the cheap eBay digital ones and they have always worked for me and I mounted mine in ashtray so it's stealth mode until I need it. Probably one of the cheapest upgrade you can do and really aids in troubleshooting problems when you get one .

Thank you, dude. I will look over at the bay and see if I can snag one, and then figure out where to put it as I don't have the ashtray thing in the caddy.

You guys realize a car will run down to about 8.5-9v before it doesn't run anymore right. There is no way those amps are drawing down his battery that fast then magically if the alt starts working again getting the car running

It could be a bad connection

Do all your gauges still work? You said tach goes to 0.

If your gauges turn off it could be an ignition issue like at the key.
Gauges work its just no engine power. rpm just drops to 0

Now that i think about it. Those cars also have a one way clutch in the alt that always went bad. It was to help belt overrun because of the long stretch of belt from the alt to the compressor. Usually only caused a belt flopping noise but, with the draw your putting on it you never know.

I havent done an in depth check on the engine. I'll jack it up on friday.

So you have a car problem not a stereo problem ? Any check engine lights on ? Maybe have codes read see if you can get any info there ?

I'll check it this friday, but now without playing loud music, i can feel slight sudden power loss when im on cruise control. The car would slightly lurch but it very minute. I'll update you guys in detail this weekend.
