Roomba?

Anyone on here ever had a Roomba? I am considering going half in on one with my mother as she is physically unable to vacuum and I dont have much time to vacuum in between work and all the other things I do. They have a roomba red for like $150 which is pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for so...

They have the more advanced roomba I guess for around $250 so I don't know if there is a whole lot of difference between them, i would like to hope so being that its and extra $100. Just wondering if anyone on here has ever had one, and if anyone know how good they work. I seen some videos on youtube and looks like it would work good for my house. I have alot of open areas that tend to get infested with crumbs somehow. Also we have a cat that sheds like there is no tomorrow and it said it picks up pet hair. Someone on youtube says not to buy one because it constantly breaks down, but there seems to be alot more people that have no problems with them and you always have that one person who tries to put something down. I am fairly good at working with electronics so I might be able to fix it if thats the case.

If you have ever had a roomba red or the other ones please let me know how you like/dislike it.

they actually work fairly well. they aren't going to compare to a nice hand driven vaccuum, but they get the job done. and obviously the convienience factor for you would be a big help. i say go for it. they sell them at bed bath and beyond and linens n things. which i'm sure either of those two stores will let you return it if it's a pos

If you're looking for slightly below average cleaning with excellent convenience, it's a good choice. But I have to ask: how big is your house if you have no time to vacuum? I can vacuum my whole house in 30 minutes. Surely you can find time once or even twice a week to do this.

Its not real big it usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour, but there is alot of unplugging and moving things to get to plug-ins. Short vacuum cord FTL and never can find the extension cord FTMFL:crap: I would prefer to have something that vacuums every day so that when someone comes over with out telling me they wont find the floors too dirty.

Plus I am a geek and love technology so these things are pretty cool to me:yumyum:

I looked at the lowes website and i cant find it. The nearest lowes around here is about 35 miles, so maybe next time iam up that way i might swing by and check anyways.

I dont even know where the closest bed bath and beyond, or linens and things would be, but I know its not within 50 miles of here... i dont think, imma check up on that

i can already see one crawling up my curtains. no thanks.
lol. Lucky for me i dont have curtains that touch the floor... however I do see the roomba terrorizing our cat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif That is going to be fun to watch
