going to set gains and everything on the amp tomorrow

jl 1000/1v2

on

2 13.5tw5's

im over on ROE right now getting the test tone

what should i use?

i know between 50-60hz

just want to make sure i get the right one so i dont fvck it up or have to d it again

ok.. why does everyone say use a 50hz test tone and turn it up until it doesnt get louder anymore... So lets assume you do that... then a huge 32Hz song plays...and its all of a sudden a LOT louder than the tone you tested with.... why don't you play the tone your box is tuned to, so that way you can be sure you won't play your sub to hard?

That's stupid. Reason doing 50hz is because dmms seem to be the most accuratethere because wall sockets are 60hz.

Also you use 0db test tones because then your never even close to a 0db song all songs rarely touch -6 or even -3.

So just set gains at rated with 50hz at 3/4 volume and don't worry about clipping because no song will do 32hz at 0db lmfao.

Im a do the same today since I found out my box is tune to 34 hz, its a kicker pre fab box for 2 l5's with a 6 inch aero port, but does it matther what hz you download or is 50hz pretty much the norm for seeting gains?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

i setz gainz buh muh earz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
As do I. Never had any issues this way. Though if I had finished my install I would have had to use a DMM for sure...setting the gains on 4 amps for a single sub by ear would be quite difficult.

50hz is a norm as long as your lpf is set above 50hz

considering what the subs cost and not wanting to have to deal with repalcing them anytime soon hopefully

im just trying to do it as right as i can.
