Rockford Fosgate T500-1BD actual output @ 1ohm?

I knew Fosgate amps are underrated, but I always thought I've been running around 700wrms @ 1ohm. I was about to upgrade to a zapco 750.2 and was excited I was going to be running 50-100 watts more. Now I've read more than one person claiming their birth sheet read over 900watts. Unfortunately, the guy I bought mine from didn't have the birth sheet just the box and foam. I know there's more than one model T500-1BD and I'm thinking maybe they have the other one. If I switch am I going to lose power?

To clarify my amp looks identical to this one:

And no. It's not the BDCP. Thanks guys. Actually clamps would be awesome to hear.

You are never going to get what the birth sheet says once its in the car hooked up. Those are tested on a bench with a content power supply, resistors, and 100hz tones. Are they underrated? Sure but not that much.

Never clamped one but most "birthsheets" on those say 1900+ @ 1 ohm
He said 500, not 1500.

Actually, the BD series amps are quite underrated, even in true car audio application. You have to take into account what DDtC said OP, but you would probably be seeing roughly the same power out of either of those amps. Also, 50w won't be noticeable to the ear, unless it is cleaner power and you are talking about two very clean amps already.

Whoops, my bad. Thought I read rf1500

Makes sense. Cool. I might just have to try both out and compare.
