Rockford Fosgate P2 8" ?

I've got a 2000 Ford Lightning (single cab). Found a pretty good deal on a BNIB set of 8" Rockford Fosgate P2 subs. I listen to music w/ a lot of double bass drum (metal) and like when subs can pick up on that aspect of the song and amplify it. I don't like it when subs sound like everything runs together w/ the mix of the bass guitar and double bass drums all at once. Would these subs be a good choice for my kind of music, also being a small cab? How can they be "tuned" to play how I want them to play?

*Obviously an audio newbie here. I'm generally more of a go-fast guy*

if you can find a way to get a hold of the DLS OA series subwoofers you will be extremely pleased. i would recommend the OA 12 - it's dead cheap (in europe less than $180) and perfect for rock/metal music. it needs only 1 cube closed box.

also good is the OA10, but i don't think it will be enough powerful for you.

i don't know if you use that brand in the US, but in Europe, we LOVE it! their speakers and amps are winning every year at the european car audio competitions. give them a try, you'll never be disappointed
