Rockford Fosgate overrated???

I was at Best Buy yesterday and I saw a RF amps.......

Rockford Fosgate Punch 900W Mono MOSFET Amplifier with Selectable Bass Boost

Continuous Watts per Channel (4 Ohms) 150

Continuous Watts per Channel (2 Ohms) 300

Max Power Watts per Channel (2 Ohms) 900

Cost - $249.99

Is RF so mainstream that everyone gets it just because it's well known? Any why is Sony so bad.....do they use crap parts.......do they just sound like crap....or do they break fast?

thats a mono 900 watts at 2 ohms, it should put out right at that kind of power, my friend has that exact amp on some pioneer subs, things pound , really they do. (no sarcasm)

As far as Sony goes, every sony amp I have ever owned ( 6 ) have lasted a combined 1 year. So IMHO Sony amps **** big hairy nut sacks. Never owned any of their subs or decks, after the amps I was to afraid to buy them. However the old Sony es amps and decks were rather nice equipment. I have never heard of an RF amp overratted, they are some of the most underratted

The other five were in fact warrantied. After the last one cooked itself in 2 weeks in the freakin' middle of winter. Well i had a bad experience with rockford so i sold all of my rockford gear and went kicker and have never been happier.

Don't try to generalize a company based off of it's lowest level equipment (what they sell at BB). They are just trying to sell their product just like every other company under the sun.

Im pretty sure Rockford Fosgate is rated right around what its says, maybe a lil underated
