Hello everybody I'm new here and a bit new to car audio. anyways I just wanted to make sure that i have my amp wired correctly.
my specs are:
-factory HU with a line output converter to run my rca's
-one 12" clarion PXW1251 2 ohm DVC rated for 500rms (1000 peak)
-rockford fosgate punch series p5002 2 channel amp 500rms (1500 peak) at 4 ohm's bridged
-running 4 gauge power wire and ground and 16 gauge speaker wire.
anyways I have my sub hooked up in series which should make it 4 ohm correct because it doubles the impedance? my amp is 4 ohm stable while bridged and i'm worried I am possibly running 2 ohm and this is why it is getting warm? I mean it's not hot to the point where you cant touch it but very warm after about 30 minutes of bumping it hard. any advice appreciated!
oh and YES I do know I am over powering my sub....I'm not worried.
