road, mountain, fixie, bmx bicycle riders thread.

I ride, but on bike paths only, so I am with this dude!! I hate riding in central fl where fn EVERYBODY rides in the mornings on weekends and all the Lance wannabes ride 4 and 5 wide on the main roads!! Central FL is a great place to ride and has the paths to make it safe, enjoyable and there are rest stations along the way..... I try not to buzz too close to people but F em, sometimes if they dont get over I aint giving an inch either.. and thats coming from someone who rides!!
the riders who hog the road, are noobs, you can tell. have all this fancy shit and bikes.

I have plenty of paths to ride on, because Id really not like to get hit by a car.

but I do have my right of way on the streets... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Marzzochi Shiver 190mm fork, Raceface DH cranks and stem, Azonic platforms, AtomLab trail pimp wheels w/ 14ga spokes, Shimano XT drivetrain, 200mm disc Shimano Saint brakes. I havent been into it lately.

x2 i was riding tonight on a sidewalk that is a good 9-10ft wide.

there is a group of about 7 people and they are just in a line across the whole sidewalk. so as soon as 2 of them stopped i flew right through the gap

one of the guys was like "what the fvck:wow:?" and i was like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Here's a project I've been working on. It's a late 70's Schwinn Continental II. (I think)

Electroforged steel frame, heavy compared to more modern frames. Going to wrap the handlebars with some black grip tape, black crank and black rims. Got the tape already, the rims should be here today, and the crank should come in by next week. Here is a mock-up of it so far:

Lol I'm with you on this man.

There are a lot of bike riders on main roads here in Central FL.. Rather annoying and quite dangerous.

Well, crank and bottom bracket came in today, now I just gotta find someplace to press in the adapter for me. Wheels will be here today. All I will need then is a chain.

Tits y0!

Actually bikes do not have a right of way, they have a right to be on the roads and after that they must follow the same rules as cars, they get no special right of way.

I'm big into biking both road and mtb, I really really enjoy it...here in Orlando there arent many road or mtb "trails" to speak of, there are a few decent road trails (Cady Way and Blanchard Park) and I ride them whenever I can, but nothing special like some cities I've been in but there is a pretty big lack of mtb trails which sucks, there are two I ride frequently but both are a long haul. There really is no place I wont ride my bike as long as time is not of importance and being sweaty is ok...I own 7 bikes right now, but I really only have 3 that I run currently as the others are either not running or I have moved on, currently I run Trek 2.3, Trek Madone 5.1 and a Trek EX6.5...

anyone here use MapMyRide.com? I have started using it recently for mapping and saving routes as well as meeting up with people to ride with...it's pretty cool, I also use MeetUp.com, every once in a while you will find a good group, especially for mountain biking...

I have heard of mapmyride, I need to get around to using it more often. I live litterally 2 miles from a nice bike trail here that stretches from crystal river down to Trilby. Used to be an old railroad track. The other trail around is way out towards springhill....

I used to ride XC quite a bit, but alas my Trek 8500 hasn't seen dirt in 3 years. DH riding has taken over.

I ride an 05 SC Bullit. New DHX5.0 rear shock, 888rc2x up front, Mag30s on a Magura FR rear and shitty Formula front hub), Raceface cranks/bars/post, SRAM X.O shifter/rear derailleur, e13 SRS chainguide and 8" HFX9 brakes w/Dangerboy levers.

Whistler and Silverstar are far and away my two favorite places to ride.

Love it, but DH isn't cheap...

Was into BMX freestyle and dirt jumping for a bit back in high school. I had a Haro Dave Mira with Diacomp 990's and 3 piece crank. Been thinking about picking up a bike again. Still have a dirt jump on my road that i made back then but its a little washed out now.
