RL-s 12 vs BTL 12

i know the RL-s is a sq based sub, but i have heard these things can get pretty loud.

do you guys think they have the potential to be as loud as the BTL? i may consider buying these over the BTL if they can get as loud and still have good sound quality.

and yeah i know enclosure size, tuning, power, vehicle electrical etc, etc....im not new to it...

but im asking this question as if they were in there optimal enclosures with at least rms power..

if that doesnt make sense let me know and ill try and clear it up for you

i want something that will sound good with music, but still be loud as hell and out perform most other subs.

i want that wow factor when people listen to it, but still want it to sound good, not just pure bass that drowns out my frontstage.

also i love very low frequency notes, so i want a sub that will pick up lows very well, i know the BTL can, but havent heard much about the RL-s. they say they are geared towards doing so though....

again i cannot suggest many other woofers over the new AV from AE... its everything you would want in a driver... extremely linear KMS ,BL and LE curves as well as a good deal of displacment and excellent efficiency and great powerhandling... if your willing to do a pair of 15s in about 8 cubes tuned to 35 with a solid 3kw amp your easily going to get the wow factor.. even a single 15 with 2kw as long as your careful your going to get mid to high 140s..

also the new sundown audio Z looks really nice and im sure you you can grab a solid 2000D it also should sound great and get very loud too boot...

I'm pretty sure the Rl-s has a single 3 ohm coil so take that into account.

But I would think the BTL would be louder. Look into Jacob's new Z series, my lv4xl really surprised me on the lows, or how about an Icon?

i have...but im not as impressed with the icon as i am with the btl. and the new z series i havent heard or seen much about. im not on this forum much so i dont know what they might have about it here.

I'm liking it a lot so far. It handles the lows very well for a 10'' and it can soak up some power. It can definitely handle more than 1500w. Hopefully there will be some meets soon and you can check it out.
