I Hate the Tarheels
I have been doing lots of readong on the RL-P, and it seems like the performance on the SQ end seems great, but the output and low end bass seems to lack on this.

Anyone have think this is true or totally false, and what is your take on the subwoofer itself off say 1200 watts?

my old Rl-p set-up with MM1400.1

1200 watts is overkill. they can get loud but mine weren't loud enough for me....but they sounded great....tune the box low and they will get low
Thats what I was thinking.... I have heard the SQ is great, but afraid of it not giving the output that I want

I has plenty of output ported, unless you are chasing numbers on the mic.
not really chasing numbers on the mic, but would like to b in the mid to low 40s....

Reason being is my last setup had the ability to get loud and dont want to downgrade too much

If you want all out SPL, then look elsewhere. If you want SQL leaning towards the SQ side, then the RL-P's could be for you. I'm run 2 15's in the HT and they kill..........
x2 and x2

If you are looking to just get insanely loud...I'd prolly keep your HDC. If you're going more towards sq that can still get dam low and loud, then the rlps would be great.

Loud is pretty subjective though. Loud to me, may be quiet to you.

loud to me is high 140s....I would rather not deal with numbers, I just wouldnt want to get it and at times lack output that I am looking for...

I would love to keep the hdc315 but dont want to go with all the electrical upgrades to power it, and I think my taste has changed

what I am more or less comparing it to is a brahma...I hear the SQ on the Brahma's are like no other, and they still can get loud

RL-P's I have ready perform great SQ but sometimes lack the getting as loud

SQ is subjective, and what matters is the owners ears being happy. The Brahma uses XBL2, and to me has a light and airy sound reproduction. Very clean, but some what dull to my ears. The RL-p has a thicker, heavier sound, it uses a TC-9 motor. The RL-p may not be as crisp as the Brahma, but it might have the presence you want. The negative on the brahma, is pray you don't cook it, if so you will have to find another company to recone it. I prefered the performance of the older RE XXX over the Brahma, but have not heard a new XXX. Keep in mind, this is my POV and from what I have heard in person or owned.

so your thinking that I would probly overally like the output more of the rl-p?
and I wont be holding you to any of this;)
Well that is why I said it was my experience. Honestly, output wise either the Brahma or the RL-p will be plenty ported for normal listening levels daily, and when pressed can get going plenty.
