rl-p vs. xxx vs. avalanche

I love my rl-p!!! I honestly couldn't tell you if it is better than an avalanche or a XXX, but I can guarantee you will not be dissappointed with it as long as you do a proper install. Im sure the avalanche or XXX would sound great as well. I was in the same situation as you not to long and what I did was think of the pros and cons of each woofer. I came up with something similar to this.

Rl-p

PROS

- efficient

-works well in small box

- cheapest of the bunch

- looks so sexy

- best customer service on behalf of ss

CONS

- No xbl^2 (who cares?)

- Slightly less output potential than XXX

XXX

PROS

- greatest xmax

- greatest power handling

- greatest output potential

CONS

- Price ($450 in my case)

- needs tons of power (not so much of a problem in my case, but the strain you are putting onoyur alt is important

- large box size

AVALANCHE

PROS

- efficient

- price is mediocre

- positive reviews

CONS

- medium large box necessary

- less output potential than xxx

- looks (Im not a fan of the ava looks but thats just me)

In my eyes the rl-p was the clear winner, but it's different for everyone.

i wouldnt put a xxx in the equation due to it costing alot more.

i read a rather lengthy review on the AV15 as soon as it was released, and it was directly compared to the adire tumult - this was in home theatre - and the av15 was said to have wonderful top-end, in fact, so much so over his tumult. he was completly amazed. and $200 LESS of a pricetag i *believe*

Yep, the avalanche is a tremendous subwoofer. Home theatre is not forgiving at all compared to car audio. It's definitely untouchable for the money.
