rl-p vs. xxx vs. avalanche

i was just wondering if i could some of your opinions on which sub to get, all going to be 15's. give me some pros and cons. i have the ability to buy them all but if one is cheaper and almost, very close, as good i would get that one. thanks.

if you dont wanna shell out the cash for a XXX15, you dont wanna shell out the cash for a 1500w or MORE amplifier, and dont feel like having a 3cube or more ported box, take a look at the avalanche.

it will perform similar to the XXX off 1\2 the wattage, it costs less, and it will sound incredible in 2.2cubes SEALED.

They're both supposed to be excellent drivers. I've got an avalanche and couldn't be happier, beautiful sound and quite loud. The rl-p has gotten nothing but great reviews too, and having owned a TC9 (same motor the rl-p is based off of) driver with my 15A, if that can be used as an indication of the rl-p's performance, I can tell you that you won't be disappointed with either choice.

i was also wondering what the freq. range on both of them are. I can't seem to find it on there websites, unless i'm missing it, if so sorry.

Frequency range shouldn't matter....you shouldn't play a sub above 80Hz, and you can't hear below 20Hz....both will play fine over this range.

i read a rather lengthy review on the AV15 as soon as it was released, and it was directly compared to the adire tumult - this was in home theatre - and the av15 was said to have wonderful top-end, in fact, so much so over his tumult. he was completly amazed. and $200 LESS of a pricetag i *believe*

I have an avalanche 15" sitting in its 3.0cuft box tuned to 31hz. Stupid planet audio left a metal shard in my amp (you can hear it clang around when you tilt the amp) and it shorted it out, giving up the magic smoke. I will be getting another amp from planet audio tomorrow free of charge, and when I do I will tell you how I like it.
