RL-p, SE, or ED?? dilemma!

ok im ready to buy some subs and i have it narrowed down too 3. im going for sound quality. so heres the choices. two ED 13Ov.2 subs being pushed by ED's 9.1 amp. with the discount and free shipping the total would be $629. two 12inch RL'ps which would be about 430$ plus shipping. could push it with the ED 9.1 or another amp. or i could get two 12inch RE's and push them with an ED 9.1 or another amp. this will be going in a 2000 4runner so theres plenty of space. the ED package deal is tempting cause it would be the cheapest way to go plus the 3 year warranty. but i havent heard much about their subs but from what i have heard is good sound quality. so come on everyone and give me your opinion i need help!

if you dont mind used subs, I've seen some prettygood deals on the 13ov2's in the used section of the forum...I've only heard good things about both subs but I've never seen anyone compare them so its hard to say...its really up to you...if you want cheap then go with the ED subs...if i had extra money I'd go with the SS subs just because fewer people have them and everyone talks about how great the sq is...nice choice for an amp....goodluck..youll probably be happy with any of those set ups

i was in the same dilemma. and pretty much same choice.

between 2 130v.2s or 2 rl-ps

go back a page or two...my topic on this will help

every1 put everything on the ss's...but its totally up to you

depends what you want, and how the box will be set up.

the eD's can be fit into a smaller box, and perform great. its more sq-ish oriented...but can still get loud.

honestly, the eD combination is too good of a deal to pass up. for 629 for 2 130v.2s and a 9.1...it just seems like a great system. the 9.1 has been tested to put out 1300ish watts...so you can throw 750watts through 2 dual 4 0v.2s, and they should pound.

you can throw 750w at rl-p w/ the 9.1 and it might hit harder, but the eD will sound a lil cleaner. but 2 rlp's and the 9.1 is is 780 w/o tax

for that price...you can get the 2 130v.2, the 9.1, and a set of eD 6000 comps for 756. thats a fantastic deal...all w/ a 3 yr warranty.

if 750-800w is more than enough for you (the max 'safe' range for the 0v.2) then get the eD package.

if you plan on upgrading to more power in the future...get the rl-ps. people push 1200w+ through each sub on here daily.

and may as well get a ported box made by eD as well...their craftsmanship is fantastic.

my vote is for the eD, unless you want that extra "oomph"

hope this more than wonders for you.

the o sounder better then the rl-p? have u heard them side by side? and the o fitting in smaller boxes? hmmmmmm....

anyway, some of what he said was pretty accurate...the pricing.

i won't compare the o and the p because i've never heard an o, butr i own an rl-p. and i keep it over an xxx.

so it's more of a budget thing (or in stock thing if ur leaning toward the eD)..

i will say this, u will be impressed with not only the soundsplinter sub, but the customer service as well....

in none of my statements did i say eD > RL-p. they are both great drivers..and honestly cant go wrong picking either of them. i was stating that for the package deal, the eD is a great way to go. not many people have given the 0v.2's as much recognition/exposure as the rl-ps...for w/e reason that may be.

you can throw 750w at rl-p w/ the 9.1 and it might hit harder, but the eD will sound a lil cleaner.

Um, no.

Sometimes I think people seriously underrate how good the Rl-p's can sound.

thanks squeak..lol...

norcal, all i was getting at is that i don't think u've heard them side by side. so to say one wil sound cleaner then the other is wrong. hence, why i didn't make a comparo...

and eD will forever be smeared, ben just isn't someone most ppl want to deal with. or give money too. mike is so far above his level, even if eD subs were that much better, i don't think i could buy from him.

but that's just me....

Honestly, i would go with rl-p, i have the 13ov.2, the 13ov.2 are nice, but i've heard an rl-p and they have more output IMO than the ov.2 that i have...... i'm lookin at the rl-p in the near future...... plus mike is a terrific guy to do business with....
