repairing blown L5

iv got a blown 12" kicker L5, the voil coils are fuct, can i have them fixed and the sub reconed? this guy said he can do it for me for 75 bucks? and just use the old cone? is this possible?

you'll need all the new soft parts, so basically everything minus the basket and motor...they can be redone, just need to make sure it's actual Kicker parts he reuses..

I know a guy....

He spent about 4 hours carefully removing an L7 cone. He then took a DD 9900 motor, one of my large aluminum flatwind coils, and the suare basket/cone and assembled the wackiest square sub in existence.

As far as I know, kicker doesn't do direct recones.They charge you just a hair under MSRP and they send you a new one.
