My first system, hmmm. It was 1996 and it was my first car, a 1988 Cavalier Z24 (5 speed). The car came with 4 blown speakers, and a tape deck. My aunt and uncle are big audio buffs (they have an $80,000 home stereo) and knew a place I could get a cd player and some speakers. Thinking nothing of it I turned the car over to them and continued my vacation (I drove from Virginia to Michigan with no radio, ICK! ). I came back later that day and suddenly I had a Clarion head unit, Pioneer 6.5's in the doors, Sony 3" tweeters in the dash, Pioneer Premier 6 x 9's in the rear deck and two Kicker Competition 10's in a sealed box running off of a Kicker Impulse 652xi. I had THE coolest system of all my friends and teammates. It all cost like $1,500 with install. They paid for everything and had me pay $50 a month back to them. Within 2 years the Pioneers had blown and were replaced with Infinity Kappa's.
