Reiss Audio subwoofer problem

Hi guys, I just bought a new subwoofer for an upcoming setup, but it sounds weird.
Is this because it's not in an enclosure or isn't broken in?

Pick it off the floor while playing. If rattle goes away then it is fine. If not, bad sub.
