Record DirecTV

I have DirecTV w/DVR + Tivo... and I went out and got a DVD burner (standalone unit, not computer)

I tried recording a program onto a DVD yesterday and it said "You cannot record a copy protected movie."

So I did some research and found Grex, which looks like it will remove the macro protection that DirecTV adds... but not sure.

Anyone have any experience/other solutions?

when i worked for directv i noticed that more and more of the movies were becoming copy protected. not sure of how to get past it tho. sorry bro

I have bright house and I do it all the time. I've made DVD's of the entire seasons of some TV shows as well as a couple movies on HBO...

not sure what to tell ya then. other than record to vhs and then copy from there, but the quality wont be as good
