feel like its time to help improve the sound in my s2000 and get rid of some of the vibrations and buzzing and quiet it down as much as i can even though it is a convertible. im trying to get the best improvement in sound with lowest cost and weight possible dont have a real budget in mind just think of the cheapest thing you can think of thats worth doing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i might have to do it in sections at a time . i have never done this kind of thing before so any tips would also be appreciated. also about to at a sub so will have to do the trunk area and the cabin .

thanks for any and all help

audio technix or murdermat whichever is inexpensive, they are both great, i used both of them and had no problem

you will need a roller and a heat gun or a hair dryer

i put my dampening in the fridge for a couple of hours so its easier to peal the backing and you will get cut, no way out of it lol, you can try garden gloves but you will get tired of it.

i like the look of the murdermat since some of it will be seen in the trunk prefer black over shiny silver:D so do i need a heatgun/hairdryer for the murder mat and what do i need it for if so. any tips on putting it down? like how close do i get it to were clips secure , and do i overlap edges or butt it up together?

Instead of those products I recommend you look at what Sound Deadener Showdown has to offer. There's no 1-shot solution for vibration control, decoupling, and a noise barrier. Your noise barrier needs to be heavy and it needs to be decoupled from the body. That's two separate products right there. A foil-backed damper will only be good for vibration control to reduce panel resonances. You need mass to block road noise and really improve bass performance from your speakers.

Well said. The full SDS system in my daily driver has worked extremely well.

:O....... i wouldnt even know where to begin on how much i would need for any of that :/ i have 0 experience in this part of car audio and that also seems like alot of stuff and would add a bit of weight and weight makes a big difference in my car

Go for the AudioTechnix 80 mil. It's black with silver AudioTechnix logos, I find it a lot more visually appealing than anything else (other than Murdermat of course, I love how it looks but looks don't justify paying 1.5x as much)

Something like peel n' stick ensolite is also good for layering on top of the vibration damping material for additional sound deadening.

You can save some weight by dampening the center 25% of the flat surfaces. Just that made huge difference especially in the hatch area of my 370z. It is cheaper and and saves weight but isnt pretty if you aren't going back with the trip. I used raamat and the self adhesive closed cell foam. The foam helps with trim rattle.
