Recommendations for new speaker purchase.

Well, i'm new here, have been lurking about for a week or so.

I own a 1995 honda Accord Ex Wagon which I'm turning into a show car. All the stock speakers are blown.

It has tweeters in the upper dash and 6 1/2's (I think) in all four doors.

I was considering doing components in all doors with an amp and 3 12" subs in the rear on a diff amp. I already have an aftermarket head unit.

Here's my question. I'm not looking for the loudest car around, I just want decent sound that I can enjoy.

What would you gys recommend in component systems and subs that are good speakers, but don't cost me my first born child?

Thanks.

WELL, as they say in car racing "how fast do you wanna go????how much money do you have"..so to get REALLY loud..your gonna need some cash..but with what your describing your options are endless..Alpine would be a good and affordable choice for replacing some of those stock speaker locations..you probably want to get a 4 channel amp to power them..not just the H/U...Sub wise you have immense options..what is your ultimate goal..just being loud???

Hifonics is a great amp source for subs and a ported box wll give you the bumps..what kind of sub makers are you leaning towards..throw out some ideas you have and see what the members have to say!

No, It doesn't have to be ear splitting loud. I just want a decent speaker setup that wont cost alot. Subs I know are endless, I had an Alpine Type R 12" in my Accord coupe running off a little 300 watt amp that was perfect. I just want decent sound, something that looks good, and doesnt break my bank account.

On a side note, my first fiberglassing project will be the box for the 3 12"'s. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The diamond audio comps are f'ing sweet. I went to a local retailer this past week also trying to replace the stock speakers in my 02 Tundra. I asked what the best comps he had were. 380$ for a pair of Diamond Audio's. He even had a recent install in an Excursion, these speakers were literally ear splitting. He turned it up so loud, that even my extremely bass damanged ears could not handle. The tweets were so clean, and the mids were perfect. Definitely worth 380$ for that pair of DA's
