Hello all, I recognize I am out of my league with my car project -- but I think the Car Audiophiles probably have the experience with a similar situation… and have advice.... I want to connect two identical 12V AGM batteries in series, and use a single 160A fused switch between the batteries and the alternator. The alternator is a 160A 1-wire unit, and I will be using 1/0 battery cable the whole way. Attached is a pic of the 150A fused switch I have in hand (from Amazon -- see attached pic) that I was thinking to place back by the battery. I like the idea that I can use this as an anti-theft device, HOWEVER, somehow I just do not feel that the fuse is adequate -- small in/out terminals, and kinda chintsy feel to the switch and reset button. Will this fuse work, or is this a known major problem area? This is the item on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CC9DYBDH/?tag=caraudiocom-20 ) Are there any comments about this switch, OR any recommendations for a switch that can go from one input (from the alternator) and split into 2 outputs (to each of the 2 batteries) -- or any other recs? Thank you.
