My definition of classic and yours do not seem to run parallel with one another in the least.

"Classic" to me is along the lines of Pink Floyd ~ Animals.

or The Wall.

The only RHCP album that was worth noting (to my ears) was Mother's Milk from the late 80s/early 90s.

Speaking of Idol, though, I happened across Daughtry's album in its entirety the other day and I have to admit - I liked almost every song contained within.
