Reccomendation for 2 12" DA m6 mk2

I recently finsihed up my head unit and alpine type x components in the door install and now im ready to go for amp and subs in my 93 rx7. I am planning to purchase 2 Diamond Audio 12" m6 mk2 subs not sure wether to buy 2 or 4 ohms? I need a reccomendation of an amp to power both of these subs, I would like atleast 500 rms going to each sub and would like the price to stay around $200 if possible, a little more is ok. BTW the alpine type x componets are OVERRATED....I blew both woofers in the dors sending 25 rms to them... put eclipse components in and have no problems and sound better! Anyways an amp reccomendation would be greatly apreciated thanks.

i believe a viper d1200.1 can be found on ebay for about $200-250. it's underrated at 1200 watts rms @ 1 ohm. you would then want to get the dual 4 ohm subs.

yes, because you would then need an amp that produces 1000-1400 watts rms @ 2 ohms instead of 1. a pg tantrum 1200.1 would make a good amp as it does 1400 watts rms + and 4 or 2 ohms, but they are out of your budget as they range from $275-325 used.

you could find a used JBL 1200.1, underrated by about 100 rms (or mine was) and puts out 1200 rms @ 1 or 2 ohms... they pop up on sounddomain as factory refurbs for like $200+ shipping. occasionally on eBay too.

y do you only want 500 to it, it takes 800. my old DA macdaddy was also rated at 800 and i tryed only puttin 550 on it and it sounded pretty bad
