Rearview Mirror Just Fell Off!!

Is it one of the kinds that has the metal piece that attaches to the inside of the glass and the mirror mounts to the metal piece? If so, did the metal piece come off as well?

Everything came off if that answers your question.

Goto AutoZone / Pep Boys / Advance Auto / whatever is handy for you.

Get some rearview mirror adhesive (super glue does not work very well for this purpose ~ don't bother)

Glue the metal piece back on and allow sufficient time to dry.

Reattach the mirror to its mount.

Ok man thanks so super glue will not work good thing i asked you guys first i would have.
Everyone I have ever known to use Super Glue for this always had the same results ~ bad results. The only differences were that sometimes it took a few days for the mirror to fall off again, sometimes it took two or three weeks, and sometimes it only took a few hours. But in the end, the bond always ended up failing.

I do not know specifically what the difference between Super Glue and the adhesive meant for rearview mirrors is, to tell the truth...

I just know that one product works for this purpose and the other doesn't...

Or you can go to a shop and have them put it back on. It's only $15. They use some kind of instant bond glue. However, it was on good for about a year, then it fell off when I got this system so I said screw it.

Welcome to the club.

Regardless of what you attach it with, if the mirror is on the windsheild itself it will eventually break off again. My mirror made more noise (rattle wise) then the back half of the car. Then I injected a load of clear silicone into the base & it took care of the sqeaking/rattling.

2 days later the mirror broke off (sent the vibration from the base to the metal part. Needless to say if you have one of those autodim/compass type mirrors its not cheap to get a new mirror every few weeks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i thru mine in the trunk
i couldnt get it to stay on and neither could the shops

lol mine too, its a good back seat ornament. haha it fell off about a year ago, i bought the glue, just never the ambition to put it back on.

Doesnt help my car only came with one (drivers)side view mirror.

Driving on the expressway with one mirror=teh lose

Haha that's funny that your talking about it. I just installed 2 Memphis PR15's and a cheap amp sealed about 2 weeks ago. First few hours, and my mirror fell off. Cleaned it up real good, installed the dimmer mirror again, and it wont stay put. It is now a back seat ornament also.
