Personally, I hate the song, but it is a great song to use for testing the bass accuracy of subs. The subs hit every note with precise accuracy that I would compare to a Crystal CMP. The subs were excellent so far in the ported box. Now, for techno...I hate the ****, but hey, we had to test sq (right audiolife //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ) for all you old farts around here. We played some crap he had on the CD and I was kind of dissapointed. Don't get me wrong...the subs sounded great, but I guess nothing can beat the Sound Quality of an IDMax. So that completed the ported box section of things...</p><p></p><p>Now for the sealed: After taking the *****es out of the ported box (they are heavy...the shipping weight was about 60 pounds per sub) we went straight to the sealed box which is built to the exact same specs as the ported box. After the same routine with the same songs and all these were the results. The SPL was not as good as the ported box, but the SQ and bass accuracy was a definate improvement. I decided that I like the ported box more though, so that's what I am going to carry to the shop in Durham to get metered on the Linear X.</p><p></p><p>Now, you are saying, RangerMan, should I get these subs and what do you compare them too. Let me first start by saying that there are better SPL subs and SQ subs out there than the XXX. You will, however, be hard pressed to find a sub that has a better mix of the 2. The sub is pure awesome, and I am sure that with a little tampering, this sub could be a HELL of an SPL sub, and a HELL of an SQ sub. I would compare this sub SPL wise, to something just under a Juggernaut. SQ wise, I would say it sounds a lot like a Crystal CMPx2 or a regular CMP. Now, do I recomend it???? Hell yea, these are the best crossover subs that I have ever heard!!! But let me warn you, I have not heard a Brahma...</p><p></p><p>As of now, the official XMax of the sub is 32mm which is not the highest Linear excursion in the worls, but with the new cast, Resonant hopes to pull a 38mm out of the DUMAX. Can it be done??? Probably, but all I can say as of now is that this is one hell of a sub...</p><p></p><p>Any questions or comments???
