RE XXX or RD alpha V2

Plus, you are wanting to keep the "same kinda Q", now do you mean Fi Q the driver, or total Q (Qts) of the sub woofer you are looking for?

I meant the same kinda Quality that is in the Fi Q driver. I totally understand that higher rating dosnt equal louder but what i do understand is that if i set my gains up for 1500 watts on my 1500D at 40hz in a sealed box the sub would not be able to handle my daily use its just not rated for that kind of power so my gains are set at a much lower level so i dont have that problem.

Also im not interested in just db's or i would be running ported. I just want fast responsiveness and something that can handle 1500 watts and not fry.

BTW that Icon in your sig looks like a hell of a nice sub but again without my gains turned down 2 hours of mudvayne or anything with alot of bass drum would burn it right up. Again maybe im just asking to much but i dont want to go with 2 12's.

Just get a single spider Alpha. The flatwind and double spider won't be as musical as your Q (so I assume). I've never heard one, but I have owned an 05 XXX and I currently now have 2 Alpha 10."
The Alphas sound just as good as an XXX but will get louder and play way lower while still sounding great across the bands.

The dealer i was talking to actually said that in his opinion the dual spider made it more responsive after it was broken in, which for the type of music i listen to is a good thing. The flatwind option was just me going whats another 20 bucks lol, but if its going to make it less musical then ill drop it.

I've run all 3 daily off a saz 1500 and ur not gonna notice anymore output from any of em really unless u throw more then 2000 watts to the alpha or the xxx and I don't think u wanna upgrade ur amp and sealed they all were pretty close but ported the alpha was a lil louder in the upper regions were the xxx was a lil louder in the lower regions. Keep the Q its prob ur best bet.

So if what your saying is the case then would it also therefore be a waste to get a new 12 fi Q with the bp power option for increased power handling or will that not make much of a difference?

If you want better power handling like you said just get a fully loaded q but If your doin it to just crank your amp up id just stick with what you have because your not gonna hear a difference in sound just that you can play it longer periods of time at the same power level as b4.

Why dont you get a DMM and set your gains to like 1200 watts and see what the Q sounds like fully powered?

Easiest fix I ever heard of, the RD alpha seems to be the winner otherwise, and running it at anythign less than what your amp makes 1500 watts int odoesnt make sense either as you already know low gains equal very little power.

I have heard 3 setups with the older version XXX and all sounded wonderful. I had a Fi Q 12 with nothing but problems and was never impressed with the lows in it either and was running specs in a sealed box with 1000rms to it. Hell I didn't have gains turned up in that and still had to send it back to get a recone and then had more problems when I got it back the 2nd time. I have since sold it to someone who had it reconed and he loves it, which is good for him. Funny as I have since had 3 different subs and not one problem with any of them and the setup right now I am running 1000rms to 2 12" 400 el cheapo Pioneer subs.

I say go with the XXX, but I have never heard of the Alphas. Just going on what I have heard.

Okay but what if i do upgrade my amp? Im seriously thinking of getting a bigger amp even though the 1500 is like 2 weeks old and either going with an xxx or an alpha. The problem with the xxx is shipping to canada for a 90 lb beast of a sub. That or i might just say F it and grab a second Q cause i do love how it sounds i just want more of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
