alright guys ive got an re se wire parallel to a directed audio 1500d. i have the settings set w/ an multi meter like preferred here on the boards. yesterday morning i went for a ride, stereo was working fine. a came home and sat for a few hours and went back out. thats when things went wrong. my sub would start cutting in and out and sometimes would stay out for a long period of time. it done this w/ rap/rock/test tones and all sorts. sometimes it would make a sound like your hooking up a speaker w/ the headunit and amp on. i brought it inside and wired it up to my home stereo just to be curious. it played fine even at full volume. i wanted to see how exactly you read the woofer leads w/ a multi meter. my meter has settings for 20m, 2m, 200k, 20k, 2k and 200/ w/ a little sound output thing next to it. i tried all of them and got 0 except for the 200/ sound output which i got 1.7-1.8 on both voice coils. im not sure if i done it right. somebody please help.

did re ever make the se in dual 2ohm vc? i tested several speakers in my house and my multi meter read exactly what the speaker had printed on it. so if i tested right, then my se is dual 2 ohm, but i could be testing it wrong.

i believe RE's subs were called dual 1's and 2's, but when you hooked them up they read .7 and 1.4 or something of the such. i think Fi is like that also.

that doesnt really answer your question at all..but that might be why your getting an odd reading

I hate the word Ohm Meter.. its a multimeter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif after i read that i quit reading your thread
kthxbye
there fixed it, you happy? and thanks for the useless post. just b/c someone uses a word you dont like doesnt mean you have to drop everything. its people like you i dont like on forums.

anyone? since i bought this sub a year and a half ago from another user, im not positive if its dual 2 or 4 ohm. i really need some help to see if my sub is blown or not. i dont have the funds to buy another sub right now and want to save this one. the amp shouldnt be clipping as i followed the gain settings thread from this forum.
