just out of curiosity,

it is my understanding that pre-amp out on a hu is a dc signal correct?

what I am trying to figure out is when you examen the signal on RCA's, is there a signal on the center pin and on the shielding? if yes, then why do soo many people recommend to ground the shielding to take care of noise instead of installing a transformer in the line?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif it is almost like running the negative speaker wire to ground!?

i do not have an in-depth understanding of the RCA's, but would like to know

The signal coming out of the RCA outs is an AC signal.

There is only signal on the inner pin. The shieding is simply a ground.
