RCAs with two amps

i was trying to figure out how to run RCA cables between a comp amp (9.2) and a sub amp (Viper 1200.1). The ED manual says to bi amp use the input termianls from the sub amp to the output terminals for the comp amp. Then run another set of rca cables from the input of the comp amp to the HU. Theres a couple of things im confused about.

1. Since they are two different amps from diff companys can i daisy-chain like that?? or should i just run two sets of RCAs into the HU?

2. I have sub amp preouts, AND speaker amp preouts on my hu. If i can daisy chain which preouts should i hook the rca's up to??

Yes. Those outputs on the eD amp are nothing more than that, preamp outputs. They just take the input signal the amp receives and sends it to another amp

You'd use the front preouts on the headunit. However, if your HU has sub preouts, then why don't you use those? I assume your headunit would also have a lowpass xover and level controller for the sub output, which would put some handy adjustments right at your fingertips. I'd use the front preouts for the comp amp and the sub preouts for the sub amp, and forget about the whole "daisy chaining" thing.

If you want to bi-amp your RCA's then you would hook the RCA's to speaker amp preouts and bi-amp from the 9.1 to the viper 1200.1. However, if your head unit has sub controls, they would be uneffective since you are not using the sub outputs. If you want control over comps and subs from the HU, I would run two pairs of RCA's.

okie dokie thank you much!!

edit: i know its bad to run power/speaker wire near RCAs but itle be fine to run RCAs next to each other right??

That's a myth. Run the wire where ever your little heart desires and you'll be fine.

I had my power wire, two sets of RCA's (1 for comp amp, 1 for sub amp), REM wire, and two pairs of speaker wire (for the comps) all zip tied together for the entire length of my 4 door, full size sedan and got ZERO noise.

That's not really a myth. Run a DC voltage along an AC type voltage and tell me it wouldn't effect it. True, it might not not be really noticable but it could effect it.

I don't really like Richard Clark, and I'm not one of his "groupies" (I really can't stand the guy)....but he'll give you $1000 if you can make a power wire induce audible noise.
